Sustainable Living: Generate your own energy

Following a three-day blackout in Panay, I promptly purchased a 500-watt solar battery and a 50-watt solar panel, which is sufficient to power six 5-watt bulbs, two of which are for my fireless brooding pen. It can charge mobile phones, a laptop, and allows me to connect my energy-efficient television to stay updated with the news.

While the initial installation may be somewhat expensive, generating your own electricity can help reduce monthly electricity costs. During yellow and red alerts, the cost per kilowatt can double. Additionally, any surplus energy can be sold back to the grid, potentially creating an extra stream of income.

Power interruptions are detrimental when operating an incubator for hatching chicks as a chicken farmer. Since gasoline-powered machines are not preferred, an uninterrupted power supply serves as an excellent alternative to keep the incubator operational for several hours.

Having your own renewable energy decrease reliance to external energy providers, ensuring a stable and reliable energy supply.

Convenient for people who work from home.
