About Me

Hey there!

You can call me Eim, and I am a lady farmer. Have you ever noticed the recurrent increase of the prices of almost everything, from the basic goods like rice, corn, potatoes to luxury items such as gadgets, bags, shoes? Even if you are earning well enough, you will still complain about the high price of everything, especially food. If most of your spending goes for the food which you do not even know where it came from or how they are produce, what was left then for other areas such as education, healthcare, rents, bills, and many others? What if you are a breadwinner?

I retire early to enjoy my coffee while watching the sunrise.

The motivation of creating my own food forest developed from the recurrent event of rising price of rice along with eggs and meat, hence, I opted for rice production, at the same time planting vegetables as a side crop and raise several chickens for eggs and meat.

Gardening a great form of exercise.
I used to take care patients in the hospital, and now I am taking care my chickens in my porch.

If you think you wanted to save on your food, at the same time providing healthy meals to your family, this site is for you. You will learn the basic of gardening, homesteading, and farming. I am not an agriculturist or any agricultural professional. I am just a common citizen that wanted to live a self-sustaining lifestyle, that even if sources of food will stagger due to another pandemic or conflict of other countries, I am still secure – foodwise.

We do most of the job in the farm. I only hire extra hand for the work that I cannot do.

Furthermore, I haven’t thought about selling my crops, well, apart from the rice, but it just happens. We still have an excess, and we turn them into cash. In short, we eat and live healthy, we have food security, at the same time we earn.

Chicken farming taught me a lot of lesson. One of it is not to count the chicks before the egg hatch — literally.

The joy of collecting the eggs.
